2007/09/06 -In partnership with Mondial Assistance, APRIL Assurances launches a Prevention-Health Portal and a Policyholder Health Portal on its april.fr website
Prevention-Health Portal at www.april.fr
Few people realise that the action taken by insurers in the field of prevention is essential, as are their consultations with health professionals and the authorities. Public awareness and prevention campaigns are becoming increasingly numerous, aimed at reducing risky behaviour: alcohol and tobacco abuse, poor diets, and so on.
The French are now much more aware of the need to keep healthy, particularly people aged between 25 and 35, who grew up when the notion of leading a healthy life became fairly widely accepted.
April Assurances keeps a close watch on changes in the market and in its customers’ behaviour, as well as in the environment as it forces them to make new choices. It is keen to offer simple solutions in the form of policies and services by creating a Prevention Portal on its april.fr website.
Open to all Internet users, this Prevention-Health Portal has been developed jointly with Mondial Assistance, the world leader in its field. It offers answers and advice drawn up and validated by the Mondial Assistance medical staff on more than 40 health-related themes. The information is regularly updated and renewed from one season to the next. Practical, amusing tools offer a host of information: practical hints, files, newsletters, tests, mini-surveys, and more.
The Prevention-Health Portal can be navigated in two ways:
By theme:
- Emergencies (first aid, prevention of household accidents, etc.) - Mental well-being (sleep, stress, etc.) - Physical well-being (backache, diet, sport, etc.) - Care and examinations (check-ups, vaccines, pregnancy, etc.) - Prevention and cure (allergies, headache, rheumatism, diabetes etc.) - Danger warnings (tobacco, alcohol, etc.) - When travelling, and more.
By target:
- Juniors - Women - Men - Seniors.
The Policyholder Health Portal on the www.april.fr website
The Policyholder Health Portal is a practical tool, reserved for policyholders who have taken out a personal health policy. The wealth of online services offered by April Assurances enables policyholders to manage their policies themselves.
This portal offers several functions:
Administrative functions Some of the information previously available only on paper can now be consulted online in the policyholder’s personal portal, where the following functions can be carried out:
- Change personal data: home address, phone number, e-mail address and the bank account particulars needed for direct debits and/or reimbursements; - Consult and manage the policy: view cover and beneficiary details, consult premium payments and reimbursements; - Request an estimate for optical or dental care or overall hospital treatment; - Subscribe to free online statements of billed services and a reminder of each reimbursement amount by either e-mail or SMS.
Information April Assurances customers can consult various types of information online: details about direct payment by insurers, reforms to the French Sécurité Sociale health system, April assistance, and more.
The www.april.fr website will shortly be offering other services such as free health credit, a reimbursement simulator and consultation of the membership file (i.e. general terms and conditions, etc.).
In time, this Portal will provide information about other types of policies, such as personal protection and home insurance.

• Responsabilis Santé: the solution for people who wish to look after their health and their budget at the same time |
 |
2007/06/25 - APRIL Assurances has placed at the heart of its development the determination to make insurance available to everyone, regardless of profession, status or age.
April Assurances has now set up the Responsabilis policy. It is a simple and educational policy with only three cover levels and no waiting period, and with a range of prevention services including nutritional coaching.
Responsabilis Santé is for people who wish to look after their health and their budget, whose medical-services consumption behaviour is responsible (less than 2 consultations per person per month, in line with 75% of the French population). Through its mechanism designed to foster responsible behaviour, Responsabilis Santé offers average premiums 30% lower than other forms of complementary health insurance. Payments do not include the management fees usually shared by all holders of a given policy. Instead, €1.50 is deducted from the reimbursement for each medical treatment per beneficiary. This rationale of responsible behaviour keeps premiums low. People who either cannot or do not wish to pay the current prices of complementary medical insurance can find an alternative in this product. This solution therefore meets the need of consumers to find a price that fits their budgets, particularly young people.
For instance, a 20 year old non-salaried professional living in Saint-Etienne pays a premium of €11.70 per month.
- For a consultation with a primary care physician, the policyholder pays €25. Having subscribed to Responsabilis Santé, (“confort” level with 150% comprehensive cover), the policyholder is reimbursed €25 - €1 (a fixed sum of €1 goes to Sécurité Sociale) - €1.50 (service management fee), taking the total to €22.50. - To buy new spectacles, the policyholder pays €120 for the frames and €170 for the lenses, a total of €290. At the confort level, reimbursement comes to €290 - €1.50, a total of €288.50.
April Assurances has also set up innovative services to round out its insurance offer: - April Assurances offers policyholders a website including a portal entirely dedicated to prevention. - In Responsabilis Santé, April Assurances offers a nutritional coaching programme. Professionals provide policyholders with personalised advice and tips to manage their health better. The aim of this programme is to make policyholders aware of how a sound diet leads to good health and prevention, if necessary offering complete nutritional rebalancing.
- Starting in September, all Internet users can obtain an estimate and sign up online, on our secure, practical and rapid platform, in just a few clicks. |
